Closed Door

Behind me,
The door shut.
I couldn’t see, laughed at by society,
As I was locked out of my hut.

Looking straight,
I stand in awe.
I shut the gate, crying at my fate,
As shut lay the door.

As I sit,
The wind shrieks.
I look at the pit, into which I could fit,
And think to myself: “What a freak!”
